when i was a kid
there wasnt a lot of hope
most of te kids my age were orphans
we lived at a site of a disaster that destroyed the city
and broke us off from the mainland
the mainland refused 2 help us
dumped all their trash on2 our island
who would give a damn bout a kid wanderin round on his own?
a kid who couldnt read or write or do anything cept survive
there were hundreds of others like me
bt dm gave us all somethin 2 share
i wouldnt hv made friends or my brothers
who taught me 2 read and sums and 2 think
w/o dm 2 draw us 2gether
