Personality: At first glance, it's easy to take Crow for a delinquent, especially when his face is covered in brands that mark him as a criminal. He's loud and brash and not afraid to talk smack, even taunting authorities who've been sent to catch him for stealing from them. He has all the outward qualities of someone who just says whatever comes to mind, and the reckless abandon of a person who has no fear. He's rude and not above name calling, even at people in positions of power. But, since Crow is an orphan from Satellite, an island that's mainly a slum, his brash and thieving behaviour is exactly what people from the wealthier mainland expect from him. It's easy to dismiss Crow as a stupid, no-good criminal who's destined languish at the bottom of the social food ladder for the rest of his life. But when he was given the opportunity, Crow buried his thieving ways and clawed his way to success through his hard work involving his business and his eventual rise to the equivalent of sports stardom, despite the general public's distrust of criminals and his lack of formal education.

However, Crow is also loud and cocky, used to tricking people with his words and actions, managing to convince someone he had a ticking timebomb when it was actually just an alarm clock. Crow is fiercely independent thanks to surviving on his own from childhooed and understands how hard that sort of life is. So now that he's older and stronger, Crow looks after as many similarly orphaned children as he can, providing shelter for their survival, telling stories that will help inspire them, and stealing for their sake. He takes a 'do as I say, not do what I do' stance with 'his' kids, because while he's happy to steal from the authorities, he doesn't want the children to do the same; Crow knows that if they're caught, they'll be branded a criminal, making their future that much harder. It doesn't matter if he gets caught and he gets another criminal mark seared into his skin; as long as the children are safe, he'll gladly take whatever abuse is inflicted on him. He looks out for his kids and sacrifices so much for them so they don't have to do the same, because they deserve better than what his crappy town will give them. While he'll risk life and limb for them, his protectiveness over his children also culminates in an indominable will to live, fighting tooth and nail to make sure he's still around to look after them. Almost everything he does, he does for the kids, and there's nothing that makes him more disappointed in himself than not being able to live up to his promises to them. But if you lay a hand on his children, oh, he'll make you pay. When his children were -- for all intents and purposes -- killed, Crow chased down one of the guys responsible with the intention of killing him... or die trying. Even his best friend had been unable to talk him down from it, despite Crow agreeing revenge doesn't solve anything.

Crow isn't afraid to be blunt and forthright to people, even to his friends, especially when he thinks what they're doing is dumb as rocks. Still, friends are friends and damn it, sometimes they piss him off, especially when they're being stupid idiots! And when Crow is angry -- even when it's anger born of worry -- he lashes out verbally and without thinking. Often his words can be quite hurtful -- "We never wanted you on the team, anyway!" -- but once the anger is gone, he regrets it deeply, and always does his best to make it up to the person later. But despite all that, even when his friends have wronged him greatly -- including murdering the man he idolised -- Crow is eventually willing to move on and accept them back into his life... though he will never forgive and forget the wrongs wrought against him.

While Crow is generally practical when it comes to the nature of survival, he's both empathetic and surprisingly sentimental, despite his tough guy exterior. When the children he looks after make a poorly drawn banner depicting himself to cheer him on in a tournament, Crow's moved to tears and hugs them all despite complaining it doesn't look like him at all. So Crow understands other peoples' own sentimentality and feelings on family, even though he's never had a family by blood. Though he's proud of his roots as a street rat who's fought fiercely for everything, Crow's always been about people, people, people, and he'll gladly put aside his own pride and sneakily pretend to lose on purpose if it will help someone -- even people who are practically strangers -- come to a positive realisation; helping people is more important than things like his pride.

However, because Crow is the type who's firmly fixed in the present, his concerns are usually immediate, practical ones. Does everyone at the hideout have enough food for the week? Are all the children safe from Security? Does the team have the money for motorcycle parts when Jack keeps spending their money on his expensive-ass coffee? Crow's focus has always been on survival, and when he's on his own, he has a hard time thinking beyond survival. But Crow also knows the importance of having a dream. That's why he draws so much strength from people who give him hope for the future: people who see the bigger picture, people who can give 'Satellite scum' like him without judgement, people who can lead the way to something better. When a man who was all of the above died, Crow tried his best to continue in that man's footsteps and make the kids happy, even though Crow knows he can't ever replace him. But as long as his friends are safe and his kids are happy, Crow's happy, too.
