they first showed nearly a year ago
two months short
dropped a message on the network about killing a monster permanently and baited us out to fetch his body
they weren't more specific than saying lager woods
group of five was the first who found it and the bones were waiting for them
they had monster-hunting spells and would've gotten all five on top of the earlier body if mana hadn't shown up and got them out
as i understand it anyway
never got the full story

most of what we know about them since's been from frank bragging on the network
lot of the group's had family and friends eaten by monsters
one of them had friends in rota and they helped outfit the town though they weren't part of the riots
a while ago someone said they found out from tikbalang we aren't the first batch of monsters
[And the dreams more recently seem to corroborate...]
frank's hinted they know something about it too

they've got some sort of bane for monsters
might be what keeps us down if they get us
might also be just the usual silver and salt and they need another spell to make sure we don't come back
they're certainly listening on the network and getting more from it whenever new monsters ask for help

the dog's not something they made
don't think they'll be getting any more

the way they turned fog to their own purposes isn't the first time we had something like it
but the last was before they showed their faces
looked like it came from the mountain
and the growths it caused were more parasitic than these ones
wondering if they got it from there somehow

you probably saw someone killed one of them after that false fog and spoke of it on the network
not sure yet what to make of her alleged last words
they've been resilient for humans otherwise
keep popping in and out to avoid getting us going after them
i've been keeping track of where they show up in vandare but that hasn't changed

they're also not the only group of monster hunters we've had
but the first weren't as good at it

[Honestly, Crow had thought a lot of the 'humans' that weren't on the waitstaff had been newly turned monsters. Even though he works at a human run business, Crow's had a lot of less than pleasant dealing with humans even though he tries to make connections with the locals.
